Membership Types

There are several types of membership on our forum. There are a number of different mechanisms at play to switch members into different types but, be aware, none involve the member asking for the switch. In fact one thing likely to prevent a switch to a different group is repeated requests. A better option is to show behaviour in line with that type of membership...though that alone is never a promise of a switch. I hope that is clear and sounds reasonable to you guys.

New Member
This is your status when your membership is first approved. New members should always take a few minutes to familiarise themselves with the rules and the FAQs to understand how this forum works. Everyone else, please be patient and helpful with new members - We were all there once.

Member
This is the standard membership type.

Trusted Member
Members who have been vouched for by two or more other trusted members will have this status. You can also become a Trusted Member at the discretion of the administrator based upon reports and forum activity.

Senior Member
Senior Members are Trusted Members who are more experienced. They should be proactive, offer advice and assistance where they can. Come up with ideas for the community inside the pages of this forum as well as in the real world. A big goal of this forum is to build up a presence outside the confines of the internet and we need you guys to help us do that. If your idea requires changes to be made to the forum itself, then raise it with the administrator who will try to help if possible. Finally, as a Senior Member you are asked to represent this forum in the best possible light. Those who break the forum rules will likely find themselves no longer in this membership group.

Moderator
Moderators are there to help keep the discussion going in the right direction. They are there to help and advise and also to ensure that the forum rules are adhered to at all times. If a member posts something that goes against these rules, a moderator can address that by advising the individual of their mistake, editing any post which requires it, or in extreme cases, escelating an account closure request to the administrator. Moderators are expected to be polite and helpful but also firm when neccessary.
