Westlands school , Norton . May 2012 . Saltergill schools successor

Formerly King Edwin school and Bishopsmill school . The successor to Saltergill school . Closed in 2008 as far as I can make out . During construction of a new extension in 2003 over 100 skeletons were discovered in an early Christian burial site . Not one room in this place is intact and there isn’t that much of interest in the place , still not touched by the metal thieves though .

A telephone recess , with no telephone or any sign of any removed telephone points . I can only think that it was a alternative to the naughty step .

we where certainly interested when we walked into this room , along the line of is it recording .

The approval has gone through for the demo in the council record , but i couldn't be bothered wading through the 1000's of pages to find it , it's on an ancient burial ground . they can't build on the fields , demo will cost a fortune . the archaeology will run into the millions for any work on the site . It's either renovation or this site is going to get a new Saltergill school style thread going on

First class report though!! I used to live right next to Norton and didnt even know this place existed.
Pretty awesome it being on a burial ground too, like something from a bad horror movie hehe

This is a refreshing change to see a next to none trashed site, great work there on getting in there

That last picture is some what worrying though, now was it onsite secca's and you got lucky or was it the old school cctv which is still active?

The schools cctv . no onsite security just nosey neighbours who report any cars parked up .

wouldnt mind a look round here befor it gets trashed hos up for it?
