Military Site - Whitburn Camp - June 2012

I do not know much history of this place so I cannot give you any introductory paragraph. It closed fairly recently as I spotted some documents dating to as late as 2010. It's a very strange place as every door to every building is wide open. Also, everything in the majority of the buildings is still there, raising questions on whether it is fully abandoned. Only a few rooms are trashed such as the shower room, toilets and kitchen.

Myself, AnarchyInTheUK and CommunistCat travelled to this abandoned military site a couple of days back. This was our last exploration after going to Walkergate Hospital and The National Coal Board Office in one day. After perilously crossing a farmers' field filled with all manner of horses and cows we made it to the camp. After climbing through a gap in the fence, we were in. After taking photographs of around 2/3rds of the camp, the police arrived. No more photographs after that... Anyhow here are the photgraphs I managed to take. CommunistCat will post his once they are developed.

Nice report mate, but I will say - don't put the exact date of your visit in the thread subject.
It's just if security was on site the day of your visit, the guard could potentially lose their job.
In future, month and year will suffice mate.
Other than that, quality photos and nice report. Looking forward to seeing more from you lad
